It was time
to change the stewardship of the Department Student Association of Mathematics Education, I tried my luck to become the number one student in mathematics education as
a chairman of the Department Student Association which I happened to also write
in a hundred of my dreams. Alhamdulillah I entrusted my friends to lead our association. By it my life began to change little by little, my mind began to open up to the
real world of campus. I
have a principle although I can not be the best in class, at least I can be the
number one person in the Department Student Associaton of Mathematics Education.
From
it I have many friends in various majors and one of my friends introduced one
of the English course, which he said very cheap but the quality is not lost. I
was very interested and after I looked for more information, I finally decided
to regist the English course class.
My original
intention was just to add skill, but over time I started falling in love with English
and I studied harder than my other classmates. After
five months of my courses there, I got the information from the chairman of Department of Mathematics Education that there will be a student exchange among
Indonesia, Philippines and Thailand called SEA Teacher Project Student Exchange.
From
there I learned to be more active so that I could become one of the
participants in the project. The
following month there was a selection of students who will follow this student
exchange program by faculty, with my not so great English ability, I was
finally chosen to be one of the participant in the Sea Teacher Project Student Exchange. I was so grateful that it all started from my decision to become the Chairman of
Department Student Association that automatically made my communication with
the chairman of department very well and my friend who had introduced the
course to me so that I realize my two dreams at once to board the plane without
my own cost and go abroad.
Although in
this program the financing is not fully funded by the campus, but I really want
to realize my dreams. I
told my parents that I would go abroad for the student exchange as well as
they were happy and proud. It
was time for me to go abroad even if I was alone and my first time on a plane,
but I am not worried about it I am sure as long as our goal is to seek
knowledge, God will always protect us. From
Kendari to Philippines through three times transit. I
transit at Sultan Hasanuddin Airport Makassar, then Soekarno-Hatta Airport Jakarta, then Changi
International Airport Singapura. I
was happy with my trip even though I travel for one day, but I can pass the
country that everybody desires is Singapore.
In Singapore I was only in the airport for three hours, I really wanted to go to marlion
park but time is not enough to get there. After
landing at Pampanga International Airport Philippines, I get a problem with the
immigration authorities who do not allow me to enter the Philippines because I
do not have a return ticket to Indonesia. I was made waiting
for almost three hours. I
remain calm, because I believe God always protects us everywhere. After
contacting the Indonesian Republic Embassy in the Philippines I was finally
allowed to enter the Philippines.
